Orange Cream isopods are a fast-moving and highly active Porcellionides pruinosus morph featuring soft cream, peach, and orange coloration. They are prolific breeders, hardy, and excellent for both beginner keepers and bioactive setups.

Care Snapshot:

Difficulty: Beginner
Temperature: 70–80°F (21–27°C)
Humidity: Moderate to high with good ventilation
Enclosure: Well-ventilated enclosure with leaf litter, cork bark, and a balanced moisture gradient
Bioactive Role: Excellent clean-up crew; highly active decomposers

Feeding:

Offer a varied diet including high-quality isopod food, fish or shrimp pellets, vegetables such as carrot, squash, zucchini, and sweet potato, along with plenty of decaying leaves and rotting hardwood. Supplemental protein supports rapid colony growth. Always provide a calcium source such as cuttlebone or cleaned and baked eggshell.

Habitat Notes:

Orange Cream isopods prefer slightly humid conditions with strong airflow and a noticeable moisture gradient. Keep one side of the enclosure moist with sphagnum moss while allowing the opposite side to dry slightly between mistings. They appreciate abundant leaf litter and surface cover and tend to remain highly visible and active, especially during feeding.

Breeding:

Orange Cream isopods reproduce very quickly under favorable conditions and establish colonies rapidly. Warm temperatures, regular feeding, and stable moisture levels will encourage explosive population growth. Their fast reproduction and hardy nature make them ideal for bioactive enclosures, feeder colonies, or hobbyists looking to expand cultures quickly.
